The Recipe Hub (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website at therecipehub.com and The Recipe Hub mobile application (available on iOS and Android). We are an Australian business and this Privacy Policy is governed by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account details: your name and email address, collected when your account is created (including during migration from our previous system).
- Health and dietary information: allergies, dietary preferences, health goals, and meal tracking data you choose to enter into the app. See Section 4 for how we handle this sensitive data.
- Subscription and payment information: subscription status and billing history. Payment card details are processed directly by Stripe, Apple, or Google — we do not store full card numbers.
- Support communications: any messages or emails you send to our support team.
Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system version, and app version.
- Usage data: features you use, pages or screens you visit, and session activity, collected to improve the app experience.
- Analytics data: aggregated and anonymised usage patterns via analytics tools (see Section 8).

How We Use Your Information
- Create and manage your account and login credentials (via Auth0).
- Provide access to recipes, meal tracking, grocery lists, and personalised content.
- Process and manage your subscription payments via Stripe, Apple App Store, or Google Play.
- Send service-related communications, including password reset emails, subscription confirmations, and important app updates.
- Respond to your support enquiries.
- Analyse usage patterns to improve app features and performance.
- Comply with our legal obligations under Australian law.

Health & Dietary Information
When you use The Recipe Hub, you may choose to provide health-related information such as dietary requirements (e.g. gluten-free, vegan), food allergies, caloric or nutritional goals, and general health objectives linked to meal planning.
By entering this information into the app, you are expressly consenting to us collecting and using it for the sole purpose of personalising your recipe recommendations, meal plans, and nutritional tracking within the app.
We will not:
- Share your health or dietary information with third parties for advertising or marketing.
- Use your health information for any purpose other than operating and personalising the app for you.
- Sell your health information under any circumstances.

Medical & Nutrition Disclaimer
The Recipe Hub provides general recipe, nutrition, meal planning, and food tracking information only. The content within the app and website is not medical advice and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.
Users should seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional before making significant dietary or lifestyle changes, particularly where allergies, intolerances, medical conditions, pregnancy, or eating disorders are involved.
The Recipe Hub does not provide personalised medical, dietetic, or healthcare services.

Sharing Your Information
Information You Provide
- Auth0 — secure authentication and login management.
- Stripe — payment processing for web subscriptions.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing and subscription management for in-app purchases.
- Analytics providers — anonymised usage data to help us improve the app.
Legal Requirements
Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of the business, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you prior to such a transfer taking place.

Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers. We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), access controls, and secure authentication through Auth0.
While we take all reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, please contact us immediately at support@therecipehub.com.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as required to provide you with our services. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or de-identify your data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.
Some third-party providers we use may store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States or other jurisdictions. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled securely and in accordance with Australian privacy laws.

Your Rights
- Access: You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: You can ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date.
- Deletion: You can request that we delete your account and personal information. Requests are processed within 30 days.
- Withdrawal of consent: Where processing is based on your consent (such as health data), you can withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.
- Complaints: If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Cookies & Analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve functionality and understand how visitors use the site. You can control cookie settings through your browser.
Our mobile app may use analytics tools (such as Firebase Analytics) to collect anonymised, aggregated data about app usage — for example, which features are used most often. This data does not identify you personally and is used solely to improve the app.
We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
